Oxygen Meter Regulator Overview

An oxygen meter regulator combines a pressure regulator (to reduce cylinder pressure to a safe level, typically 50 PSI for medical use) with a flow meter (to control and display flow rate in liters per minute, LPM). It’s used in:

  • Medical: Oxygen therapy for patients, hospitals, or EMS.
  • Industrial: Welding, cutting, or aviation.
  • Specialty: Ozone therapy requiring precise low-flow rates.

Key Specifications

  • Flow Rates:
    • Standard medical: 0-15 LPM or 0-25 LPM.
    • Pediatric: 0-3.5 LPM or lower (e.g., 200cc).
    • Low-flow (e.g., ozone): 1/16 to 3/4 LPM.

  • Connections:
    • Inlet: CGA-540 (industrial/large tanks) or CGA-870 (medical cylinders).
    • Outlet: DISS 1240, hose barb, or quick-connect.

  • Flow Meter Types:
    • Thorpe Tube: Ball-in-tube for precise LPM readings.
    • Dial Style: Click settings for simplicity, less visual.

  • Materials: Brass (durable) or aluminum (lightweight).
